A better man in Japan.

I have been beaten fair and square.

Honking big chainring Via Bike Hacks.

The holy grail…

In the search for mad big and numerous gears this is the king: SRAM Dual Drive.

It is a internal 3 speed hub with the capacity to accept an 8 or 9 speed cassete for a total max of 27 gears. When added with a standard triple on the crank you get 81 gears!

Now if they only made a hammershmidt with a double or triple on it.

IMG_5487Note the spacers. Yet another reason to dislike shimano.

IMG_5491Might make a good double… if we were timid.

IMG_5493I can’t believe I used to like a 52t. 56 is what the kids are groovin’ to.

OMG wow.

OMG wow.

Kraaaazy.

The whole enchilada.

The whole enchilada.

The front shifter realy hates to shift up to the big ring. I didn’t add any chain because it was loose to start with. Will have to avoid the big/big combo.

It’s so big it scares small children.

IMG_5463One 56t ring to rule them all.

It’s here.

QBP ‘Engagement Ring’ 56 tooth = $6.95

132 gear inch big gear = priceless

I’m going to install it tomorrow.

Ordered a new big bling 56 tooth ring.

Hopefully it will arrive on Friday.

Rear view detail of hub, deraileur and cassete. I had to grind the hanger a little to accomodate room for the 11t and chain.

General Pics.

IMG_5455Something old something new, something a little blue. I added the 9-speed rear and shifters from my old Giant AC Air lite. I forgot how awesome steel rides. 11-34 cassete, and 52-38-28 in the front.

First post.

I have a new trend to start. Get rid of your fixie/singlespeed, and build a Multie. A multie is a bike with an abnormally large high gear, and a rediculously large gear range. Why should I go simple when I can add all of the BLING that I can.
